Group Financial Controller

We’re a rapidly growing group of six communications businesses.

We have world-famous clients, really creative colleagues, a relaxed culture… and big ambitions.

So we’re after a financial controller who’s happy mucking in on the day-to-day stuff right now, but who also has the appetite to shape our finance team and processes as we get bigger.

You could be based in any of our offices in Leeds, Manchester or London. You can work from home two to three days a week, and might need to visit each of those offices at least once a month.

Ideally, you’ll also…

  • Be ACA qualified
  • Have great IT and Excel skills
  • Have experience working with Xero
  • Have experience working in an SME

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Complete group management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and forecast
  • Review revenue and costs compared to budget and explain significant variances
  • Run forecasting meetings with each agency
  • Authorise supplier payments, PAYE and VAT – ensuring that these are all in line with budget before authorising
  • Prepare year-end financial statements ready for audit
  • Manage the year end audit process
  • Check all month end reconciliations completed
  • Review and sign-off payroll
  • Complete/Review HMRC returns
  • Line manager responsibility for the group finance managers
  • Be the finance lead on the implementation of new systems and processes
  • Provide support to the finance director when considering future acquisitions and integrating newly acquired companies into the group
