Hey, I’m Dionysis, one of Definition’s Creative directors and a brand consultant.

With 20+ years of experience, there’s no challenge too big or problem too complex. From my days at Wolff Olins and the Athens Olympic Games to running an award-winning boutique agency and leading creative teams in London agencies, I’ve tackled diverse projects that span sectors and continents.

Armed with two MA degrees in Graphic Design and Photography from London’s University of the Arts, I’ve worked with renowned brands like Guinness World Records, Technicolor, EDF, Northumbrian Water, and the Department for International Trade.

I’m Alex, and I’m a creative director.

I rummage around brand personalities, which means I’ve been the voice of detergent, ice cream, oil paint, margarine, and dogs, to name but a few. I studied philosophy, but always wondered if I should have done psychology; writing covers both. Playing with tone, words and sentence structure triggers different emotions and behaviour – it can even build and break beliefs. And, perhaps because I spent ten years in social media marketing, I like the challenge of doing that succinctly.

I’m Amy, the go-to person at Definition when it comes to research. I take pride in diving into the fascinating world of consumer mindset, extracting valuable insights and behavioural patterns. My true passion lies in converting these insights into action – creating bespoke strategies to drive brands forward.

With over a decade of experience, I’ve crossed paths with an array of sectors. From theme parks to whiskey clubs, housing charities to childcare providers.

Among the multitude of insights, a particular one that stands out involved decoding the purchase decisions of tradesmen for a power tool brand. Turns out, the decision hinges on whether the colour of the tool matches their uniform! Now that’s the exact kind of colourful insight that keeps my job endlessly fascinating!

I’m Hannah. When I’m not writing children’s stories about giants and vampire dentists, I’m writing surprisingly sensible things for businesses.

Over the last fifteen years, I’ve written websites, corporate values, recruitment campaigns and plenty of tone of voice guidelines. And for one very happy afternoon many years ago, I ghost wrote a letter as Colin Firth.

I’m a bit of a behavioural science bookworm, too. I love bringing new bits of research and thinking into talks and training sessions that I run for businesses here and around the world.

Oh, and every book I’ve read agrees with me that confirmation bias is best.

I’m Grace – a Writer and brand strategist in the language team. I started my career in-house as a marketing and communications expert, but quickly developed a passion for building brands and crafting copy. Since then I’ve written for luxury hotel chains, global manufacturers and law firms, and strategised for the innovation, telecoms and finance industries. But my crowning glory is my music blog Cellophane Sounds. (And yes. I do have better taste than you).

One of my favourite quotes is ‘vision without action is hallucination’, oh how I wish I’d said that. I love helping clients work out what they should stand for, that’s usually 5% of the task. The other 95% is turning that vision into action through their customer and colleague experience. We call it brand alignment.

I love my work, and my friends and family think I have an easy life because I do all this with fun brands such as Alton Towers, David Lloyd, The London Eye, Blackpool, Greene King and Odeon. I suppose they are right!

One of my scariest jobs was doing focus groups in Strangeways prison but scarier still was conducting research in pubs at 11pm at night with clubbers ‘on the pull’ and being a test dummy when Merlin were testing Nemesis at Alton Towers. I dine out on those tales.

I’m Jodie, your resident Strategist, bridging the gap between research and strategy here at Definition. My journey began in the fast-paced, high-pressure world of retail, where I honed my skills in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Transitioning to Brand Vista, I embarked on a two-year adventure as a Brand Executive, skilfully coordinating national and international projects for esteemed clients. This experience cemented my passion for qualitative research, inspiring me to earn an MRS advanced certification in Market and Social Research Practice.

In my current role as a Strategist, I am fuelled by the belief that the voice of our customers and colleagues should be the heartbeat of all strategic decision-making.

I’m Neil. I mainly spend my life running workshops and training people – my mum once said ‘your job is just showing off really, isn’t it?’

I’ve gone from coming up with names (my tombstone will say ‘He named Ocado.’), to writing whole sentences, to defining tones of voice and whole brands. I wrote Brilliant Business Writing, and have helped everyone from Cabinet ministers to call centre workers think about how they express their organisation’s brand.

I’m Tayler, a Client manager. I’m here to take charge and navigate your project’s workflow like a seasoned captain guiding a ship through rough waters. With a firm grip on the helm, I manage the intricate workflow of each project and chart new courses to enhance these projects, forging stronger relationships and achieving strategic aims. My arsenal of skills includes masterful communication, seamless collaboration, and precision organisation.

I’ve delivered films, animations, editorials, strategy and design for the Security Industry Authority and Nuclear Waste Services. I’m Joe, Definition’s Senior strategist extraordinaire. With a wealth of experience amassed during my 21-year dance in the manufacturing industry, I’m a master of versatility, having donned various roles that sharpened my strategic prowess.

One of my crowning achievements was my tenure as Head of Continuous Improvement, a role I’ve continued to thrive in. A catalyst for transformation, I excel in unravelling the intricate threads of strategy and guided by my innate curiosity, I navigate the realms of problem-solving with a creative flair that consistently yields remarkable solutions.

Hello! I’m Kate and I steer the strategy ship at Definition. I cut my teeth in the tech-for-good sector, before curiosity led me to find my home in management consultancy.

My days are spent discovering what makes brands special and weaving these golden threads into every customer and colleague interaction.

From the power-packed world of energy to the glitz of entertainment, I’ve had the chance to work with diverse brands. For me, it’s all about the joy of the journey – guiding brands through their evolution, creating connections, telling stories, and bringing their brilliant brand to life.

I’m Abbie, a Research assistant in the Research, strategy, and experience department at Definition. I’m inherently drawn to psychology, deeply intrigued by the ever-complex human psyche, behaviours, and the motivations beneath them.

Immersing in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, I enjoy piecing together the puzzles of human behaviour and discovering what propels our actions. From unearthing consumer perceptions to decoding trends, I thrive on converting intricate data into coherent intellectual strategies.

I’m Matt, and my thing is absorbing oodles of complex information and then finding a story that makes perfect sense of it all. Sometimes that ends up looking like a blog about educational neuroscience that a child can understand, and sometimes it’s a clear ‘about’ page for a brand that does a bit of everything.

I arrived here from a theatre background, via some time as a journo, so I’m as happy in front of a crowd or beating the streets as I am behind a keyboard. Variety fuels me. Which is great, because you need multiple angles to see the whole story.

I’m Nick, or Padders, and I do a lot of our tone of voice and naming work, as well as anything that falls onto the wordy side of brand strategy.

If I had to sum up what I do in a nutshell, and I do, because that’s exactly what’s going on here, I’d say my thing is creative hooks. That might mean a clever way to make a tone of voice catch fire (in a good way) in an organisation. Or a big idea that makes a brand video stand out from the crowd. Or a strapline that neatly completes the story started by the brand name.

I’ve worked for over 30 years with pretty much every department of government. And my private sector experience isn’t bad either – with clients from EDF to Pearson to Vodafone.

Hello! I’m Holly, a seasoned Senior Executive. With over 15 years of experience in the agency landscape, my career has been rich and diverse, spanning various roles such as project management, brand strategy, and insight.

In my role, every day brings a mixture of challenges, excitement, and variety as I manage projects, define and deliver captivating brands –working with some wonderful people from theme parks to robotics – it keeps me busy!

I’m Tabitha, but we like a nickname round here so everyone calls me Tab. I am a Senior strategist and I work in the wonderful world of research, strategy and experience. I am from a legal background, but this is much more fun, and strikes the ideal balance between creative and academic thinking.

Career highs include helping to name the tallest, fastest rollercoaster in the UK, travelling to South Korea and China to understand the role of the brand when physicians prescribe antibiotics (spoiler- it matters) and defining and aligning some of the biggest leisure brands in the UK (and the world come to think of it!). Career lows include sprinting through Hamburg airport on a 45 minute transfer only to find the flight was delayed and missing out on a spa trip to Milan due to a global pandemic.

I’m Sam, your go-to Senior researcher in our Strategy and Research wing. From the agency trenches to client-side battlefields, I’ve honed my craft for over five years with a focus on understanding what makes consumers tick.

With a solid foundation in Psychology, honed further with a master’s degree, I’ve devoted my career to understanding ‘why’ people behave the way they do.

Navigating through both qualitative and quantitative research, I have streamlined objectives, discovered patterns, and unlocked behavioural mysteries. The most enriching insight? Emotion drives action more than logic – a fascinating delve into our human psyche, isn’t it?

I’m Olivia, and I’m a Senior researcher in the fascinating world of Research, strategy, and experience. I delve into the intricacies of market research, with a background in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout my career, spanning 6 years, I’ve crafted a deep expertise in deciphering complex data and extracting invaluable insights that drive impactful business decisions.

I kick-started my journey at Definition by delivering insight training for Grunenthal in Colombia and Mexico within my very first week. Over the course of my career, I have helped companies develop strategies for the launch of essential new pharmaceutical treatments.

I’m Ashleigh, one of our Language team writers. I’m happiest when I’m finding names for cake businesses. But I also like taking dry or super corporate writing and making it sound friendlier. I studied Modern Languages (French and Spanish mostly, but also some others just for fun) so I’m a bit of a language nerd. I’m especially interested in neurolinguistics which is all about how the brain absorbs language.

I’m Caitlin, a Senior communications executive in the PR Division at Definition. With over 2 years of experience and a degree in PR with Journalism, I have nurtured my passion for crafting compelling narratives and delivering impressive client service.

My journey at Definition started as a junior executive, where I honed my skills and steadily climbed the ladder. Now, as a Senior Communications Executive, I collaborate with client teams to develop and execute impactful PR strategies, alongside building important relationships with the media.

My proudest accomplishment so far is securing coverage for my clients in nearly every national publication, regardless of their size or sector. I’m Bronwen, a Senior consultant in the PR division. With over a decade of experience, I’ve worked with clients across various sectors, including logistics, STEM, tech, and talent acquisition, shaping strategies that resonate. My passion lies in developing and executing strategic PR and communications strategies that drive impactful outcomes. Building strong and trusted relationships with clients is at the core of my approach, as it sets the stage for successful collaborations.

Working collaboratively as part of a team is particularly inspiring to me, as I believe the synergy of different talents and perspectives produces the best results.

I’m Ben, a Senior communications consultant, working to bridge powerful brands and their audience through compelling narratives.

Across my seven-year journey at Definition, I’ve worked across a number of B2B and B2C PR campaigns, advocating stellar brands and helping to generate genuine change for issues-based organisations.

My proudest achievements include working with not-for-profit healthcare provider, Benenden Health, supporting the brand’s fame and helping to improve the nation’s health at the same time. I’m also proud to have helped amplify the profile of priceless maritime charities and to address some of the challenges faced by those working within the seafaring sector. Lifelong learning and doing meaningful work are the powerful forces that drive me.

I’m Andy, MD of Engagement and employee experience. I’ve been plugging away at this IC and EE stuff for 30yrs and I love it!

I kicked off my illustrious career drawing stuff (my big claim to fame is I drew owls for Scary Spice!) then swiftly made my way into creative, comms and strategy. I’ve had the privilege of working with some awesome brands, impressive IC types and a talented team. Together we’ve knocked out some cracking comms together!

I’m Matthew, your Senior PR and digital strategist.

Your strategic compass for the dynamic landscapes of PR and digital strategy, I bring 8 years of proven agency and in-house experience, serving a diverse portfolio of clients that spans energy and engineering to fintech and professional services (and everything in between) during that time. I find fulfillment in weaving together PR, SEO, content, and social media into cohesive, results-driven strategies that bolster brand awareness, lead generation, and business growth.

Among my notable achievements, I’ve spearheaded SEO projects that resulted in over a 300% yearly increase in organic leads, successfully navigated tricky comms as the PR Manager for a payroll provider during the pandemic, and have had the privilege of featuring as an expert in industry-leading publications like PR Week and PR Moment.

I’m Luke, your generative artificial intelligence strategist here at Definition. Building, experimenting, and shaping genAI solutions are what excites me these days. I bring 15 years of substantial PR, SEO, and content marketing agency experience to the table: you could say content generation is in my DNA.

I’m just as comfortable speaking at conferences (in places like Brighton, talking about SEO stuff for example) as I am judging tech awards (which I’ve done for over a decade). I kind of get off on the thrill of a challenge, it’s my thing.

What am I most proud of, you ask? Well, I’ve secured front page splashes on every UK national newspaper and generated over £30million in sales-qualified leads for companies using the magic mixes of PR and content-led SEO (once and for all putting to bed the question “How much is this PR coverage worth?”). But my latest and greatest thing (you may have seen me shouting about it on LinkedIn) is our proprietary generative AI platform, Definition AI. Curiosity killed the cat, but it sure does make my work immensely rewarding.

I’m Lou, Head of digital PR & social media in Definition’s Communications Division. I create innovative PR and social media roadmaps that contribute to business growth. Working with all kinds of businesses, from quirky startups to corporate Titans, I help them navigate the stormy seas of the digital age to amplify their brand story.

With over a decade in the industry I’ve helped sculpt the digital personas of brands to spark growth and foster connectivity. Utilising the might of social media for business-to-business interactions is my favourite part of the job.

From highlighting hydropower as the forgotten giant of renewable energy for GE, to launching many new beers in many new markets, my journey has been as diverse as it has been rewarding. One time I even taught KPMG’s partners how to hashtag.

I’m Katie, Head of media relations, with over a decade of experience in B2B PR, specializing in B2B tech, cybersecurity, and the third sector.

My career has been built on creating stories that we all want to read. One of my guiding principles in building a story is, “would you talk about this outside of work?” I’m quite passionate about keeping this as a core part of B2B storytelling!

I’m Ellie, Director of client relations in the PR division at Definition. I like to say I look after ‘client happiness’ by developing robust teams and streamlined processes to consistently deliver excellent service to our clients, every time.

With 15 years of PR experience, I have successfully partnered with clients spanning our wide range of specialisms, crafting and implementing PR strategies on a global scale.

I’m David, a highly-experienced media relations consultant. My career covers more than 35 years of PR, copywriting, content creation and journalism. I’ve spent most of it supporting B2Bs, professional and financial service providers and not-for-profits of all sizes across many sectors.

Early in-house roles with the NHS and MOD paved my way into journalism and broadcasting. I then moved on to senior positions with national and international communication groups and pre-eminent regional agencies. I learned a lot from each, steadily refining my understanding of nuanced communication strategies.

I’m Catherine, a Senior client services director in the communications arm of Definition. With experience scaling the vast PR terrain for over 15 years, I’ve crafted narratives for sectors as varied as finance, retail, logistics, and agriculture. I’ve been the voice behind, and alongside, some of the FTSE 100 big guns.

Tackling intense situations is my forte, from skilfully navigating an activist blockade at manufacturing sites to orchestrating successful plans to communicate business transformations. Believe me, transforming a seemingly grey area into a silver lining is an adrenaline-packed journey.

Hey there, I’m Rebecca, the Senior client service director in our PR division. With more than ten years of experience at Definition, I’ve been an integral part of our team, specialising in not-for-profit projects. I love crafting strategic campaigns for clients in healthcare, charity, and education. From organising charity fundraisers with members of the Royal Family to opening the London Stock Exchange, I’ve had the opportunity to work on exciting national brand awareness campaigns for healthcare brands.

I’m Peter, and I am a strategic consultant specialising in crisis communications, helping organisations mitigate reputational and business risks. Before moving into PR I was an international journalist, latterly for The Times reporting on major events too numerous to list here

I travelled with the Pope and interviewed Hollywood icons, rock music legends, sporting stars, political leaders, military chiefs and even terrorists. In an interesting and varied life, I have advised sponsors of the Commonwealth Games, the first Round, the World Yacht Race and the boards of public and private organisations.

I have authored two non-fiction books, ‘ghost-written’ a thriller and managed a teenage rock band from school hall to recording and performing in LA and a major arena tour in the UK. I write a menswear blog – a lifelong passion – and deliver a talk – ‘Journeys in Journalism- and Beyond’

I’m Olivia, a Communications consultant in Definition’s Communications division. I began my journey here as a Junior account executive up north in Leeds over four years ago before making the move to London in 2021. My experience spans multiple sectors including legal, tech, retail and automotive, where I’ve had the rewarding role of working closely with clients on a number of different projects and exciting campaigns. One of the highlights of my role is getting to work with top brands to deliver campaigns that make a real impact – it’s both challenging and exciting, and it’s safe to say, no day here is the same!

I’m Damon, and I’m a professional diver—but not in the Tom Daley sense. Instead, I spend my days diving headlong down rabbit holes in search of the secrets of human connection. It’s all for a worthy cause, mind you: helping clients improve their organisation’s employee experience and engagement, improve their internal communications, and support leaders in connecting and inspiring in a world that’s changing crazy fast.

The funny thing is, I used to be a fashion journalist. But now we’re back to rabbit holes again. So, let’s just say that 20+ years later, I love what I do: helping work become a better and more purposeful place.

I’m Jen Majeed, in command as the Client services director within the IC and EE team. I’ve been specialising in internal communications and employee experience for quite a while now, but have a firm love for all things words.

A journalist by training, I’ve always strived to write words that work, whether that’s breathing life into one of the fantastic content ideas that the IC & EE team dreams up or coming up with melodies for my musical tendencies outside of work.

My key achievements will always centre around working collaboratively with our designers and client managers to ensure that the colleagues we work for see a difference in their every day from what we do.

I’m Luke, your generative artificial intelligence strategist here at Definition. Building, experimenting, and shaping genAI solutions are what excites me these days. I bring 15 years of substantial PR, SEO, and content marketing agency experience to the table: you could say content generation is in my DNA.

I’m just as comfortable speaking at conferences (in places like Brighton, talking about SEO stuff for example) as I am judging tech awards (which I’ve done for over a decade). I kind of get off on the thrill of a challenge, it’s my thing.

What am I most proud of, you ask? Well, I’ve secured front page splashes on every UK national newspaper and generated over £30million in sales-qualified leads for companies using the magic mixes of PR and content-led SEO (once and for all putting to bed the question “How much is this PR coverage worth?”). But my latest and greatest thing (you may have seen me shouting about it on LinkedIn) is our proprietary generative AI platform, Definition AI. Curiosity killed the cat, but it sure does make my work immensely rewarding.

Hey, I’m Louise, and I started our business. PR Week made me one of its Top 10 Influential Leaders outside London. And couldn’t resist putting me in their Power Book for 2023 (oh, and for 2022, and 2021 as well). If that’s not enough, I’ve won the European Excellence Award for Reputation Management three times.

The starting point for me was right here in the comms department, fresh out of university and heavy on ambition. Now you’ll find me doing my best to make sense of this wonderful marketing chaos. I’ve been around the block, dipping my toes into integrated marketing, and finessing fintech content before coming home to the Definition family. I’ve had the pleasure of juggling SEO and digital PR for everyone from SaaS start-ups to self-storage supremos.

I’m Chris and I run the Ops team. From operations and project management to sales, strategy, and marketing, my wide skill set makes me adept at wearing many hats.

As the Operations director, I oversee IT, tools, ways of working, and office management. My role also extends to integrating new organisations seamlessly into Definition.
